Government Exceeds Disinvestment Target In 2018-19

NEW DELHI: The legislature has surpassed its disinvestment focus for the current financial by Rs. 5,000 crore, taking the complete continues to Rs. 85,000 crore, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said Friday. This is the second most noteworthy disinvestment continues in a money related year after the administration last financial wiped up a little over Rs. 1 lakh crore in 2017-18, helped by ONGC obtaining government's whole 51.11 percent stake in oil refiner HPCL for Rs. 36,915 crore.

In the current monetary year, the legislature is looking at Rs. 14,500 crore by method for sell of its 52.63 percent stake in REC to state-claimed Power Finance Corporation (PFC). In addition, the fifth tranche of the CPSE ETF, which finished on Friday, has accumulated Rs. 10,000 crore to the exchequer. Through the issuance of two tranches of the CPSE ETF in the current financial, the legislature has raised Rs. 27,000 crore.

In a tweet, Mr Jaitley stated, "As against an objective of Rs. 80,000 crore for disinvestment for the present year, the divestment receipts have contacted Rs. 85,000 crores today".

In 2016-17 financial, the legislature had cleaned up Rs. 46,247 crore through CPSE disinvestment, as against the spending focus of Rs. 56,500 crore. In 2015-16, it had raised Rs. 23,997 crore, as against the spending focus of Rs. 69,500 crore. In 2014-15, receipts from disinvestment remained at Rs. 26,068 crore against an objective of Rs. 58,425 crore. In 2017-18 financial, the record continues of Rs. 1 lakh crore were accomplished against a spending focus of Rs. 72,500 crore.
